The Office of Federal and Regional Affairs (OFRA) was created by Mayor Bowser to interface with Congress, federal agencies, the White House and all levels of regional governments on behalf of the District of Columbia.
OFRA team is also dedicated to working externally and internally to engage with federal and regional governments in order to advances the executive’s priorities for the people of the District of Columbia. To date, Mayor Bowser has met with the leadership of the US House of Representatives including, Speaker John Boehner, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Assistant Leader James Clyburn, as well as the leadership of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairs.
In addition to meeting with federal leaders, Mayor Bowser has also worked with County Executives Isiah Leggett and Rushern Baker to convene a regional summit to discuss issues to combat homelessness.
