Associate Director, Office of Policy and Legislative Affairs

Matt Scalf joined the Office of Policy and Legislative Affairs (OPLA) as an Associate Director in September of 2016. Prior to joining OPLA, Matt worked in a policy role supporting the Deputy Mayor of London. Matt has previous experience with the District government, having served in the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services as well as the District Department of Corrections. Matt first joined District Government as a Capital City Fellow in the spring of 2012. He started his career working on Capitol Hill in a legislative role for a national professional association. Matt holds a BA in Sociology and Philosophy from Miami University and an MA in Policy with focus in Philosophy and Social Policy from The George Washington University. He is a resident of the Van Ness neighborhood in Ward 3.
