Associate Director, Office of Policy and Legislative Affairs

Brittany Kent serves as an Associate Director of the Office of Policy and Legislative Affairs (OPLA) for the Executive Office of the Mayor.

Ms. Kent brings experience from the Department of Justice, where she managed caseloads of substantive legal and medical matters in various stages of litigation. She also worked for the Department of Human Services (DHS) in the Child Protective Services division. At DHS, Ms. Kent investigated reports of child abuse and neglect and worked with families to overcome obstacles in their lives. Additionally, Brittany served as the Family Violence Intervention Program Director for a non-profit organization. In that role, she worked closely with the criminal justice system to provide intervention services to defendants arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence offenses. She has also worked with the Rape Crisis Center and civic organizations dedicated to women’s rights.

Brittany is dedicated to advocacy in the areas of equity in pay for women of color, criminal justice reform, and the abolishment of the school to prison pipeline. She holds a Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law.
