Associate Director, Office of Federal and Regional Affairs

Jerry Chapin serves as Associate Director of the Office of Federal and Regional Affairs (OFRA) for the Executive Office of the Mayor.

Chapin’s work includes oversight of matters pertaining to homeland security, public safety and justice, labor and employment, immigration, and veterans’ affairs. In addition to working with Congress, Chapin serves as the Mayor’s primary liaison to the Department of Justice, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Labor, Department of Veterans Affairs, and the DC National Guard.

Prior to his work in the Mayor’s office, Mr. Chapin served as a 3:03 certified prosecutor where he handled arraignments, pre-trial hearings, plea colloquies, and criminal trials in South Boston District Court and Boston Municipal Court.

Mr. Chapin earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Roanoke College and his Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School where he served as an executive on the Journal of High Technology Law. He graduated law school with a concentration in trial and appellate advocacy and is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts and the District of Columbia.

Jerry lives in Washington, DC with his wife Rory and their nine-year-old golden-doodle Piper.
