Senior Associate Director, Office of Federal and Regional Affairs

Quinting S. Lacewell Jr. is an experienced communication and branding professional in strategic planning, brand strategies, crisis communications, and intergovernmental affairs. Quinting serves as Senior Associate Director of the Office of Federal and Regional Affairs for the Executive Office of Mayor Muriel Bowser. His legislative portfolio includes issues affecting citizenry in areas of housing and urban affairs, natural resources, and homeland security.

In addition to working with Congress, Quinting serves as the mayor’s primary liaison to the Housing and Urban Development, Department of Interior, The Federal Emergency Management Agency, African American Mayor’s Association, the Democratic Governors Association and The White House.

Previously, he served as the Communications Director for the Mayor’s Office of Community Affairs providing oversight of communications for 13 Mayoral Community Outreach Offices, including oversight for 36 city agencies social media platforms and was the Editor and Chief of the Join Mayor Bowser in Community Newsletter published twice monthly to over 200,000 subscribers.

Quinting has served in the administration of three leading Democratic Mayors including former Mayor Kasim Reed, Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, and Mayor Muriel Bowser. He was responsible for providing strategic counsel on message development for the Mayor and the Atlanta City Council.

Quinting also served as the Deputy Communications Director for the grand opening of Tyler Perry Studios where he managed public relations strategy and all press logistics for the Grand Opening of Tyler Perry Studios.

Quinting is a native of Newark, New Jersey and was educated in the Newark Public School System and Essex County Technical/Vocational School System. He received his B.A. from Clark Atlanta University in 2013 and obtained a Master of Arts Degree in Public Relations in 2015. Quinting began his professional career as an intern for Newark Municipal Court Chief Judge Richard A. Nunes where he was a part of a special team that conducted special research on the implementation of community courts in the City of Newark.
