Dexter Williams

Associate Director, Office of Federal and Regional Affairs

Dexter Williams is an Associate Director in the Office of Federal and Regional Affairs (OFRA). He is responsible for education, transportation, and judiciary matters for the mayor.

Prior to working in OFRA, he was the Senior State Legislative Manager at RepresentUS. There, he led multiple state-based campaigns to pass vote-by-mail laws. Vermont and Rhode Island adopted vote-by-mail policies because of the campaigns led by Williams. He also worked at the DC Council as a policy aide for Councilmember Robert White. While at the Council, he was instrumental with the Council passing, and the mayor signing, the landmark bill known as Restore the Vote, which allows incarcerated residents in federal facilities to vote in elections. Dexter also worked as a Government Relations Associate at Howard University. He successfully created the university’s first congressional fellowship program and built strong relationships with the DC and federal governments.

Mr. Williams is a native Washingtonian who lives in Ward 7. He earned his B.S. in Health Sciences from Howard University and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Baltimore.
